Medigap Plan C

The Medicare Supplement Plan C covers almost all the Medicare gaps that individuals are required to pay otherwise. The only exception in this plan is the excess charges in Part B. These are the charges that your medical care provider might charge apart from what is covered in your Medigap plan C. These charges are limited to 15% of what Medicare covers. There are only a number of doctors that charge excess charges in Nevada. If this is an issue for you, you can check out the list of doctors in Nevada that do not charge you any excess charges.

To help you understand better, here is an example. Mason is covered under the Medigap plan C, and most of the doctors he visits are not charging any excess fee. Then Mason develops a swelling in his wrist, that he developed after an accident. To check the matter out he visits an urgent care clinic and gets an X-ray. The clinic he visited in a rush is not covered under Medicare and is going to charge him under excess care. A normal x-ray costs $50, but the clinic is charging an excess charge of 15%, which brings his total to $57.50. Since Mason is covered under Medigap Plan C, he now owes $7.50, which he has to pay the medical facility.

Difference between Medicare Plan C and Medicare Part C

The Medigap Plan C is one of the many Medicare supplement plans that are available in Nevada. On the other hand, Medicare Part C is related to the Medicare Advantage policy. If you pick the Medigap Plan C, you will be able to visit top hospitals and doctors in Nevada. This way your supplement policy will pay for your outpatient and inpatient deductibles when need be. The Medicare Plan C offers similar benefits to the Medicare Plan F. If you are worried about excess charges than you should consider the plan F. The prices may vary from county to county in Nevada, but they are not too much apart.
